These salted caramel oat bars bring trendy flavor to wholesome oats.

Ingredients

  • 200g rolled oats
  • 100g butter
  • 100g maple syrup
  • 50g light brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp almond butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt (plus extra flaky salt for topping)

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan)
  2. Line a 20cm square tin with baking paper
  3. Melt butter, maple syrup, sugar, and almond butter in a pan
  4. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla and salt
  5. Mix in oats until well coated
  6. Press firmly into tin, sprinkle with flaky sea salt
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden
  8. Cool completely before cutting
